Traveling Classroom
About Traveling Classroom
Do you remember a really great field trip you took with your classmates? Most of us can recall at least one such field trip that was entertaining, exciting and instructive all at the same time. Of course, at the time, no one really connected it with education. A field trip is fun and it's a wonderful alternative to the classroom. More often than not, when you think about it, you may have learned a lot more than you expected.
The Traveling Classroom project is designed to be a field trip on the Internet. It is not a make-believe trip. We will actually be traveling to London and Athens. We will climb the hills to the place where the Oracle of Delphi prophesied the fate of kings. We will navigate the same waters that Jason and the Argonauts sailed. We will dance in the streets on the Greek festival days. And we will share it all with whoever wants to come along.
Traveling Classroom provides an eye-witness view of Greece and an opportunity for participants to receive information, comments, and feedback from someone who is there at the time. The interactive nature of the project provides an opportunity for students to take ownership of information and the learning process.
