Topic: Quotes on de-hellenization by traitor Simitis
Plutonas posted 6/16/2001     5:05:33 PM
Fellow Hellenes, another quote that goes hand in hand with the Kissinger
one- though this one is from the Prime Minister of Greece (!!):

"Our ideological bias toward ancient Greece has been a factor which has,
in past, influenced our educational programs in a negative way."

Kostas Simitis
To Vima, on 10 Dec. 1989

In the Ethnikistikos Laikismos: Ee Elliniki politiki, Athens, 1992, p.
75, Costas Simitis explained his socialist vision of a godless future for
Greece to his fellow PASOK (Panhellenic Socialist Movement) comrades
(sindrofi kai sindrofises). He wrote:

"Our policy is to strengthen in every way, and by every means possible,
the general apathy towards developments having to do with ideological
belief; [our goal is] a Hellenic Christianity which has no resonance
among the masses. To hinder and to prevent at any cost the attachment by
our people to the idea of a nation state or to a Christian tradition,
which weakens us in our resolve and gives rise to dangers and obstacles
to Greece as a modern and progressive presence in the world."

This is the same Costas Simitis who once wrote that "The concept of
loyalty to a national flag, or patriotic sentiments towards a national
identity, are concepts that have no meaning in today's world." Here,
comrade Simitis is echoing his mentor and idol Karl Marx: The only
difference being that Marx did not bother to hide behind words like
"Democratic Socialism," he told us straight out just what he was.
